Let’s get our requirements out of the way quickly. To join Medilink Nursing, we need to see:

• 6 months of UK-based healthcare experience within the past 2 years, or
• 2 years of UK-based healthcare experience within the past 5 years.
• References from your previous employer(s) to validate your experience.

While we appreciate everybody has to start somewhere, the only way we can guarantee the level of care our clients expect, is with our previous experience requirement.

Our nurses and carers need to be able to get straight to work in unfamiliar environments with, at times, little-to-no induction – especially if it’s a last-minute cover request!

Our online application will only take 10 minutes, if that. We will ask for:

• Your name
• The position you’re applying for
• Email address
• Phone number
• Your address
• Your card expiry date and PIN (if applicable to your position)
• Your National Insurance number – this is optional, but speeds up the recruitment process.
• Whether you have any criminal convictions, or have been dismissed from other employment.
• Whether you have the right to work in the UK.
• Any recent training you’ve had.
• Your employment history.

With this information, we can start processing your application, however there’s additional info we’ll need to know later on, you can also provide us at this stage:

• Any additional skills or training you have
• Your immunisations
• Whether you use a car or public transport to get about
• An emergency contact

Once this is completed, our team will get in touch with you about your application once they’ve had a chance to look it over.

If all goes well, our team will get in touch with you to arrange an interview, which tends to take place online, but if you’re near our Head Office and would prefer face-to-face, we can do that too.

We’re always looking to grow our team of bank staff, so you won’t be up against other candidates competing for a single role, like with traditional interviews. If you’re the right sort and have the skills we’re looking for, you’re on the team!

We’ll arrange to have your uniform sent, along with some timesheets, and apply for a DBS check with you. Once the DBS check is returned (this takes around 11 days on average, but can be much quicker) and we’ve seen the certificate, you’ll be ready to get your first shift!

Here are a few things you need to be aware of, for when you get your first shifts with us:

• Please don’t travel to work in your uniform – our clients prefer it if you get changed into your uniform once you arrive
• If you’re going to be late for a shift, please let the Medilink Nursing team know – we’ll apologise on your behalf, so there’s no need to contact the client directly.
• If you have to cancel a shift, please give us as much notice as you can – we’ll need to find someone else to fill it in good time!
